Ruby Wa- tanabe, arts and crafts counselor, left this morn- ing to join the group. The girls are living at the Vineland school and working at neighboring farms picking peas and beans at prevailing wages. This camp is being spon- sored as part of the Food for Victory program held throughout the nation. In addition to this,the girls from Amache were invited to aid in bettering public relations with outside GR groups and with the farm- ers of Vineland. Those attending are Ev- elyn Miyashima, Ada Yama- saki,Betty Fujimori, Flor- ence Nakano, Mitsuye Ishi- gaki,Sally Muranaga, Esth- er Tarii, Sachi Sakakura, Toshiko Tahara, Chizuko Yazaki, Boots Sotomura, ChowChow Kaji, and Harumi Hamahashi. ELECTION OF YBA OFFICERS HELD Tsukasa Saneto was re- elected president of the YBA at the 7G Buddhist hall Sunday. Assisting him are Richard Iseri, first vice president; Aiko Tomi- ye, second vice president; Mitsuye Oshita, recording secretary; Tomoko Yatabe, corresponding secretary; John Kimura, treasurer; Mary' Watanabe and Betty Watanabe, music chairmen for 7G; and Yayoko Morita, music chairman for 12G. Advisers are Revs. Ma- sachika Yonemura and Ta- kuyu Shirakawa, and Harry Ogata and Setsue Ogawa. Cabinet members are re- quested to meet at the 7G Buddhist hall, Friday, 8 p.m. SABBATH SCHOOL INVITES PUBLIC The Seventh-Day Advent- ist church announces that there is Sabbath School for children and adults ev- ery Saturday, 8:30 a.m. at 6G-2C. The public is invited. INSPECTIONS MADE BY COLONEL FIERO Colonel Lue Fiero of the Washington WRA office visited the center Tuesday through Saturday of last week. The main purpose of his visit was to review the motor pool and repair de- partments of the center. Colonel Fiero also re- viewed the mess operations. DEADLINE SET FOR FAMILY HEAD CHANGE If it is necessary for any family in the center to designate a change in the family head, it should be done immediately, an- nounced Welfare Counselor John J. 0. Moore. It will be impossible to make any changes after Saturday, he said. ===WANTED=== Three janitors, male or female, apply at Chief Nurse Alma K. Folda's of- fice in the center hospi- tal in the administration section. . . . Six men to work in the center plumbing shop. Ex- perience is desirable, but not necessary as trade will be taught. Applicants, see William Wroth, public works officer. BETWEEN US GIRLS BY SHIRO NOMURA LOVE… In the springtime a young man's fancies turn to love and other sweet nonsense (no sense). It usually ends there. Can you call that love? Then there is a kind that lingers thru the summer, thru dry fall and the cold winter. Others just linger...like a bad memory. Jus' gi’ me po'k chops. Ah lobs ‘em de mos'. BURNT... The bootiful black sunset we've been having these last few evenings...have you seen anything like it? Gosh, we didn't realize that the heat was so intense days prior to our "black sunsets." That should ex- plain why there are so many nut-brown gals and fellas walking around. "Nuts" too ...cracked and otherwise. SPEAKING OF NUTS... He who sits up all night studying for a blood test. ..well, he's not all there. ADVERTISEMENT... Found quick way to write shorthand. Cut off fingers. SERIOUSLY... The water shortage should not be taken too lightly. I mean, it should not be indulged in too heavily. Let's take heed, "drips," and save a drop or two for a rainy day... HINT... To all girls who have trouble with their hair-do's . Do as the moron hairdresser suggests. Eat gunpowder so your hair might grow out in "bangs." WISE UP... George's "Sinkwich" Yu- zawa and "Lansdell" Ono of Blk. 8K were seen to be playing football with the twelve-year-olds. We admit that you're in the right group as far as ability goes,but have you no shame? They're better than you… Also, to Jimmy Yamanaka, who has taken up weight-lifting. You "ve mistaken fat for muscle…Look out . . . . IN CLOSING… Although a florist by trade, I grow "CORN" in my spare time…thirty….
