Honorees were Ben Sasaki, George Shiino, Tom and Frank Saito, and Jack Mametsuka, CHRISTIAN GROUP Nine volunteers were guests of honor at a party given at the 10H Christian church hall by a group of friends Sunday. Volunteer Kay Sugahara spoke in be- half of the enlistees. Honored guests were Roy Satow, Yoshiro Befu, George Saito, Calvin Saito, Harry Kuwaha ra, Buster Suzuki, Duke Yamasaki, Sam Takaha- shi, and Kay Sugahara. BLOCK 11F The following volunteers were honored at a party given by the young people of Block 11F Tuesday night; Harry Nakabe, George Otsuka, and Tom Morikawa, 11F; and Jiro Kai, 12F. KAU KAU LANERS Yuk Yawata, Windy Kaji- oka, Yoshi Matsuoka, Joe Jiobu, Bill Wada, and Sab Okamura, members of the Kau Kau Lane athletic club who volunteered for the Army, were honored at a dance Wednesday night at the 11E mess hall. Rustlings FROM OTHER CENTERS TULE LAKE, Calif. A WAAC lieutenant in- terviewed women interested in joining the corps. The local hog farm is ranked as the leader in hog production in Northern Cal- ifornia. ROHWER, Ark... "Keeping fit physically" is one of the programs of the YWCA. Calisthenics are practiced. A "Lil Neebo" dance was sponsored by the community activities division. The Royal Dukes, who sponsored a queen contest in the center, collected $1,028 and donated it to the various community or- ganizations to be used for the benefit and welfare of the residents. TOPAZ, Utah... The center hospital has issued a call for 50 nurse aides to meet the nursing personnel shortage. A three-week course will be given to all applicants. Topaz high school was given a scrubbing when 1500 students washed the windows and walls, painted and polished the stoves, mopped floors, repaired the rooms, and deposited and arranged gravel for sidewalks. The March 3 doll exhibit displayed homemade products of crepe paper, stockings, wire, rags, wood, and yarn. Two basketball teams will represent the center at the Rocky Mountain cham- pionship tourney to be held in Salt Lake City, HEART MOUNTAIN, Wyo... An alien evacuee pur- chased $3000 worth of war bonds to top all purchasers. There will be a Private Tojo in the all-nisei com- bat unit. POSTON, Ariz… A father-son banquet highlighted the Court of Honor. The highest award, Star Scout badge, was pre- sented to Gene Nakata. The evening's program was start- ed with mess call. JEROME, Ark… Since the first of the year, five tons of soap has been manufactured in the center for the resi- dents’ use. The material used are waste fat from the kitchens, lye, and water. Twenty-six residents , all over 60 years of age and residing in one block were the honored guests at a talent show.
