Lindley, returned re- cently from a visit to her home in Hillrose. o Newest arrivals from other centers include the Yosihiro Fujimutsus , Kazue and Kiyomi Hattori from Poston; Satoru Kamikawa and George Kurata from Man- zanar, according to Housing Superintendent Paul H. Freier. o Joel Gordon, 12-year-old son of Samuel J. Gordon, nightschool director, was given a long-promised visit to the center last week during spring vacation for receiving good grades in his studies. Joel liked the center so much that he wants to move here from his home in Colorado Springs. o Mrs. Wilma van Dussel- dorp, associate consultant of public welfare of the Washington office, is vis- iting the center. o Asayo Kimura will leave for Manzanar at the end of the week to take a train- ing course to become a graduate nurse. She will return to this center to work in the hos- pital after completing the 149-day course. o Sunday English services of the Granada Protestant church will be held in the 10H recreation hall instead of at Terry hall. The lat- ter location will be used for the arts and crafts exhibits on that day. COUPLE ANNOUNCE ENGAGEMENT The betrothal of Mitsu- ko Hattori, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Koto Hattori, to Frank Suzukida was an- nounced at the Hattori home, 8G-11C, Saturday eve- ning in the presence of friends and members of their families. Suzukida is the fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. Toku Suzukida. Baishakunin were Mr. and Mrs. Shuichi Sasaki and Mr. and Mrs. Yutaka Kubota. NEW CLASSES ANNOUNCED A few more beginning or intermediate students will be accepted in the typing cIass which meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Fri- day, according to an an- nouncement from the adult education office. A new class in beginning shorthand will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8H-5C, beginning today, at 6:30 p.m. A c1ass in woodwork will be conducted every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. All those interested may register at the adult education office in the 8H laundry building, according to Samuel J. Gordon, head of the department. INSTRUCTORS IN VISIT Amache instructors from the Naval Intelligence Lan- guage school in Boulder who are visiting the center during their inter-term va- cation this week are: Mike Fujimoto, Masao Igasaki, Joe Inouye , Buddy Iwata, Akira Manabe , Saburo Tani, and James Yoshida. Other residents inter- ested in applying for posi- tions as language instruct- tors at Boulder are re- quested to see James Yo- shida who will interview applicants all day today at the 12K recreation hall from 9:30 a.m. The employ- ment office will also con- duct interviews, said Reg- istrar Lewis W. Fanslan. Those who wish to have baggage or parcels taken to Boulder may register immediately at the employ- ment office. Certificates Available Residents who have re- ceived notifications from their block managers about the arrival of their shoe rationing certificates are requested to secure them a Hanson hall, according to Leave Officer Willis J. Hanson. Certificates are good for 30 days only. BLOOD DONORS NEEDED A call for blood donors was issued today by Dr. W. T. Carstarphen of the center hospital as the present list is almost exhausted. "To be a donor, one must have a Wasserman test and a blood typing test per- formed at the hospital laboratory," Dr. Carstar- phren said. He emphasized that donors will not give blood immediately. The response to this appeal and the subsequent blood donor list compiled is the only source of blood available," Dr. Carstarphen pointed out. Donors are asked to re- port to the hospital labor- atory at their earliest convenience. CHURCH GROUP TO MEET IN 7H HALL The Amache Seventh-Day Adventist church will meet in 7G recreation hall tonight. Instead, members will meet in the 7H recre- ation hall with the Granada Christian church group at 7 p.m. A young people's fellow- ship hour with community singing will be featured. The public is cordially Invited to attend.
