The Silverines met at 8H-6C yesterday with Grace Lewis, adviser. The Tri Delts will hold a volleyball practice at the 6E playground today at 2 p.m. The cabinet is asked to meet at the Y of- fice tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. Las Nines members will meet with Adviser Kazu Ku- wahara at 2 p.m. today at 7K-3F. Inez Neill,who left to- day to join the WAVES, and Harriet Arao, who is leave- ing for Rohwer, were honored at a farewell party given by the TwenteensTuesday at the Teacher's house, build- ing 2. ADULT COOKING CLASSES TO OPEN New classes in meal plan- ning and food preparation for women and out-of-school girls will begin Friday, Jan. 22, the adult educa- tion office revealed yesterday. Those interested should register at the Terry hall kitchen now. Firemen to Be Appointed Two volunteer and 24 auxiliary firemen will be appointed by the block man- agers for their respec- tive blocks, it was an- nounced by Fire Chief Nog- gie Kajioka, Thursday. One of the two volun- teer firemen will act as the foremen of the group and will take charge in case of any emergencies. Identification badges with a red stripe will be is- sued to each of the men and must be worn at all times. The first duty of the volunteer firemen will be the safety of the residents, said Kajioka, Preventing the flames from spreading will be their secondary duty. CHURCH COUNCIL DONATES PIANO A piano, was donated by the Denver Council churches last week to be used in the 9E nursery school, Dr. Enoch Dumas, elementary school principal, said yesterday. BOOK CLUB CALLS MEETING TUESDAY The Book club will meet Tuesday at 8H-4F at 6:30 p.m. Members are asked to come prepared to order their books. Refreshments and games will follow a short busi- ness meeting. Interested persons are invited. Pupils Given Health Hints The maintaining of a wholesome mental attitude was suggested to the pupils of the Amache schools as helpful in adjusting them- selves to the winter weath- er, according to the health and physical education de- partment. The knowledge that the forces of nature will not harm one under normal con- ditions and the realization that a person well bundled up was secure and comfort- able were cited as reasons giving a person a psycho- logical advantage in keeping up his well being. Personal health habits were also stressed by the department. Keeping the feet dry, avoiding drafts, exercising properly, and following health habits as they re- late to sleep and diet o^e necessary in maintaining a healthy body, it was said. PUPPETEERS PICK NAME FOR GROUP "The Little Little Thea- ter" was the name chosen for their organization by the center's puppeteers Thursday evening at the home of Khan Domoto. Members of the Little Little Theater elected To- shio Ninomiya manager and B. Hirano, director. The organization has been asked by the elemen- tary school and by Block 9E to present plays in the near future.
