from the Chairman The Fresno Regional Foundation was founded twelve years ago as a community trust to provide a simple means for people to deal with community problems. There are numerous funds within the Foundation, each with its own charitable objective and most are identified with the name of the donor who established the gift. The funds are pooled for investment purposes in order to acquire the maximum yield. The funds vary in size and most are handled as endowments with the principal kept intact. I am pleased to publicly thank the members of the Board of Governors who serve without compensation and who are appointed for their wise judgments in making grants from the Foundation to serve a wide variety of charitable needs in this community. The Board appreciates the support of the seven participating Trustee Banks, of its donors, the previous members of the Board of Governors and the many individuals and organizations that have aided the Foundation since it was founded in 1966. We anticipate a continued growth of the Foundation as more and more individuals, corporations and organizations utilize its services to serve the charitable needs of the Central San Joaquin Valley.
